Before you start
ShowHow records the browser tab you choose and turns meaningful clicks into separate steps. It does not record your camera or microphone.
Use a short, repeatable task for your first guide. A workflow with four to eight clicks is enough to learn the whole process.
- Install ShowHow and pin it to the Chrome toolbar.
- Open the website and page where the workflow begins.
- Have any safe example data you need ready before capture.
Capture the workflow
- Select the ShowHow icon while you are on the tab you want to capture.
- Name the guide and enable step tracking if Chrome asks for access to that site.
- Add privacy masks over any visible information that should not appear in the guide.
- Select Start recording, then complete the task normally. Each meaningful click becomes a step.
- Open ShowHow again and select Finish when the result of the task is visible.
Review and publish
- Open the editor when ShowHow finishes assembling the guide.
- Read each title and instruction, then move or resize any highlight that needs adjustment.
- Run Privacy review and preview the complete guide.
- Select Publish. The first time, connect the browser to your ShowHow account and approve the matching code.
- Copy the guide link or embed code from the publish panel.
