Terms of Service
These terms set the practical rules for using the ShowHow extension, hosted service, exports, and published guides.
Last updated: 1 August 2026
By using ShowHow, you agree to these terms. If you use ShowHow for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for that organization.
The service
ShowHow lets you capture a browser workflow, edit it locally, export an interactive guide, and optionally publish it through ShowHow. Features may evolve as the product develops. We may modify or discontinue a feature, and will try to give reasonable notice when a change materially affects paid use.
Accounts and security
You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping connected-browser credentials secure. Provide accurate account information, revoke browsers you no longer control, and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use. You must be legally able to enter this agreement.
Your content and permissions
You keep ownership of the guide content you create. You give ShowHow a limited permission to host, copy, process, and display content only as needed to provide the features you request. This permission ends when the content is deleted, subject to reasonable backup, security, and legal retention.
You must have the rights and permissions needed to capture and share the websites, interfaces, text, images, personal information, trademarks, and other material in your guides. You are responsible for completing Privacy review and removing secrets or information that should not be shared. A published guide can be viewed by anyone with its unlisted link.
Acceptable use
You may not use ShowHow to:
- break the law, violate another person's rights, or bypass access controls;
- publish malware, deceptive instructions, harassment, or unlawful material;
- probe, disrupt, overload, or reverse engineer the hosted service except where law permits;
- resell access to ShowHow without written permission; or
- misrepresent your identity, affiliation, or the source of a guide.
We may remove content or suspend access when reasonably necessary to address these risks.
Plans, billing, and cancellation
Paid plans are billed through Stripe at the price and interval shown before purchase. Unless stated otherwise, subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can manage or cancel a subscription through the billing portal; cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid period. Taxes and refunds are handled as required by applicable law and the terms shown at purchase.
Third-party services
ShowHow interoperates with websites you choose to record and uses third-party infrastructure, authentication, and payment services. We are not responsible for third-party websites or for changes they make to their interfaces, terms, or availability.
Service warranty
ShowHow is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or that every site will be recordable. Nothing in these terms excludes consumer guarantees or other rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, ShowHow is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, lost profits, lost data, or harm caused by content you capture or publish. ShowHow's total liability for a claim is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them.
Termination
You may stop using ShowHow at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for a material breach, legal or security risk, non-payment, or misuse, using notice where reasonably practicable. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms and will change the date above. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will provide reasonable notice. Questions can be sent using showhow.support@gmail.com.
